What can you recommend for hair loss?
There is no cure for male-pattern baldness, but treatments can slow down the process.
Male-pattern baldness is the most common type of hair loss and it is usually inherited. It is caused when hair follicles are oversensitive to testosterone. The 2 most effective treatments are medicines called minoxidil and finasteride.
Fortunately, Minoxidil is available without a prescription from your doctor. Minoxidil comes as a lotion that can be rubbed into the scalp and can be purchased through your pharmacist over-the-counter.
You can also improve the health of your hair follicles by:
- Eating a healthy diet
- Avoiding shampoos containing harsh chemicals (choose organic shampoos)
- Eating more calcium for healthy hair
My partner seems to be acting strangely, what can I do?
Men feel uncomfortable talking about their emotions. So, if a male is feeling depressed or anxious, they won’t necessarily show it and they may try to hide it.
