Store Medi-Pak in freezer or refrigerator. Wrap your cold Medi-Pak in a light towel and or cloth provided and apply to the injured area, moulding the pack to ensure maximum skin contact.

Magnoplasm Paste is a drawing paste containing glycerol and dried magnesium sulfate. The glycerol acts as a humectant which means it attracts water to itself and magnesium sulphate works via osmosis. The magnesium sulfate is dried so does not contain any water and when applied to the skin exhibits a strong osmotic effect and glycerol is hygroscopic, meaning it has a strong affinity for water and thus will draw out moisture from the inflamed area (as well as the atmosphere).
Spread (about 5mm thick) on the inflamed area needing treatment and cover with a non-adhesive dressing. Change the dressing after 12-24 hours and repeat if necessary. Magnoplasm Paste can be applied cold, straight from the jar or warmed to aid spreading.
Glycerol and magnesium sulfate
Do not use a microwave to heat the Magnoplasm as products tend to deteriorate at higher temperatures and scalding can occur. Magnoplasm Paste may need to be reapplied and the process repeated if the problem persists. Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist see your health care professional. Magnoplasm Paste should not be applied on areas where new tissue is forming on a wound (newly granulated areas) to avoid overgranulation and excessive scarring.

1. Wash hands before and after treating the wound. Gently clean the wound and the surrounding skin. 2. Prepare and clean the skin surrounding the wound area by removing excess moisture. Any excess hair close to the wound should be clipped. 3. Open the pouch by peeling apart the flaps on the pouch paper. Remove the ALLEVYN Life dressing. Remove one side of the backing sheet from the ALLEVYN Life dressing. Anchor the adhesive side of the ALLEVYN Life dressing to the skin. Smooth the dressing over the wound ensuring there are no creases. 4. Remove the remaining backing sheet and smooth the dressing over the remainder of the wound without stretching the dressing. The pad area only of the dressing must be adhered across the entire surface of the wound.
