Queensland Community Pharmacy Hormonal Contraception Pilot
The Queensland Community Pharmacy Hormonal Contraception Pilot will enable pharmacists to autonomously prescribe hormonal contraception services to women and girls aged over 16 years.
This pilot includes the following contraception methods:
- Oral medications (combined oral contraceptive pill* and the progesterone-only pill.)
- Injection medication (depot medroxyprogesterone acetate)
- Contraception device (combined hormonal contraceptive vaginal ring)
*excluding those with high estrogen dose.
